What is Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism is the most common type of thyroid disorder. This is when your thyroid gland is not active enough. Your thyroid gland is located in the front of your neck. If the gland is under-active, it may not make enough thyroid hormone. Your body uses energy and is controlled by thyroid hormones. This effects every organ in your body. If your thyroid doesn't make enough of these hormones, parts of your body slow down.
